This may or may not be my hair lying on a shelf waiting to be sent to Locks of Love. Sorry about the crappy quality – it was taken with a, you guessed it! crappy (old) camera phone. I know you’re all feeling generous and decided to donate blood in the coming week because of the shortage. Now I’m giving you another cause – helping cancer patients feel a little better about their appearance!
If you don’t have hair to share, you can always make a financial donation. Financial donations help offset the cost of making the wigs.
If you have lots of hair, but don’t meet the 10 inch minimum, you could consider donating to Pantene’s program, Beautiful Lengths. Their requirements are a little different, and hair can be as short as 8 inches.
It can take 6 or more donated ponytails to make a single wig! If you have lots of hair, like me, you may be donating two ponytails (more if you have a ridiculous amount of hair. Go you!), but that still means at least three donors for every one wig!
