What I’ve Been Reading March 6

“It’s kind of like pugs. The first time some people see a pug they recoil because god damn, that is one ugly animal. Then they see them a couple of more times and they’re kind of funny in a really weird, snuffly, stunted sort of way, and soon enough they’re fucked because they start actually liking pugs and thinking they’re cute.”

For whatever reason I found this hilarious when I read it on Some Summer Sunday. It’s just so accurate! Also, if you are looking for a blog to read to amuse yourself, SSS is the way to go. Well, if your sense of humor is like mine, that is.

I came across two different accounts of how politician’s religious beliefs should affect our judgement of their fitness for office. The first suggests that we should consider all religious beliefs as pertinent. I’m rather inclined to agree with the second that suggests a more tempered view – that is, religion is relevant when it will have an effect upon how the politician behaves while in office in terms of policy. I’m no good at summarizing in one sentence, so you should just read the articles.

I haven’t been reading much for the last few days. I was focused on applying for jobs and watching the new episodes of Doctor Who that just became available on Netflix. Oops! 🙂
